ACA International member Robert Eugene Barrett, president of Central Portfolio Control, Inc., in Minnetonka, Minnesota, passed away Oct. 11, 2019. Barrett, 51, began his career as a collections agent with CPC in Eden Prairie in August 2002 when the company employed five people. With his tremendous work ethic and dedication to the team, Barrett played a key role in helping build the company to the thriving, 120-employee firm that it is today. In 2016, Barrett became the firm’s president.
Barrett is survived by his parents Dave and Jule Barrett; his wife Lynnette Barrett; sons, Raymond Murillo and Adam Murillo; daughter in-law, Run Murillo; granddaughter, Lilliana; brother, David Barrett; sister in-law, Shannon Barrett; as well as other family members.
Barrett, an accomplished hunter and fisher, won many bass fishing tournaments held on Minnesota’s glorious lakes. He was a generous and dedicated man who enjoyed mentoring others in youth outreach programs including the Treehouse fishing day, D.A.R.E fishing tournaments and most recently the Elk River High School fishing team.
A service is scheduled for Friday Oct. 25, 2019, at Pax Christi Catholic Community, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55347. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. and a Catholic mass will be held at 11 a.m. A celebration of life event will follow the mass at the restaurant, Buca di Beppo, 7711 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, 55344.
